After a crazy chaotic summer filled with barbecues, parties and trips to the beach it is time to go back to school. For both parents and kids this means getting back to a more normal, regulated schedule. As you are sitting down to make your weekly schedule it is important to prioritize what should be included on the schedule. Here are a few additions or changes I think most people should make to their weekly schedule (if possible).
EXERCISE
I know, as a trainer you had to have known this was coming. But there are so many benefits to daily exercise – you will be happier, stronger, healthier. You don’t need to go to the gym for hours every day but at least try to get a minimum of 30 minutes – and make sure to alternate between muscular (weight training) and cardiovascular training (running, walking, biking).
Make time for food
With so much on the go – it is easy to choose options that are quicker and don’t have the nutrients that bodies need. So make sure to leave time to make proper, healthy dinners. If you don’t have time in the evenings to make meals – you can do so on the weekend and freeze them so they are ready to go whenever you get home.
Unplug
At the end of the day try to go an hour without any technology (no tv’s, phones, computers). Not only will this help you sleep better at night, but it will also give you time to focus on those around you.
Hopefully you can fit all of these into your schedules!
