Organic Homemade Toothpaste Recipe

Natural hygiene products have started making there way into peoples homes. More and more people are using natural shampoos, soaps and face creams. I use many natural products in my home and recently decided to try natural organic toothpaste. It only took me about 5 minutes to make my own. My boy friend and I have been using it for a week and we both love it. I find my teeth feel cleaner longer than when I use normal store bought tooth paste and it still has that refreshing after taste.

Try it out, here is the recipe I used at home:

  1. Find a small 4oz mason jar and fill fill it with organic coconut oil.
  2. Place jar and oil in the microwave for 10 second. (this will make your oil a liquid)
  3. Add 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  4. Add 1 teaspoon peppermint essential oil (use essential oil that your can ingest)

Stir well and place in the freezer or fridge for 30 minutes. When you take it out it will now be more solid. Just use your tooth brush to scoop out a small amount and brush your teeth. Store in a place that is room temperature and keep out of the sun. Hope your enjoy the recipe as much as I did!
